My Voice Went Soft is Louise te Poele's plea for the human voice, with its doubts, intuition and own pace, in a world increasingly dominated by systems and screens. Working from a place of not-knowing, she builds still lifes from museum heritage pieces and personal finds, full of colour, playfulness and an unstoppable love of life, a counter-voice that refuses to be drowned out.
Te Poele is an internationally active visual artist and curator, known for initiating Standing on the Shoulders of Giants (Saatchi Gallery, London, with the Rijksmuseum and the V&A) and for her ongoing project Raise Your Voice.
