Louise te Poele (1984) is a visual artist who lives and works in the Netherlands. She works with the medium of photography and she creates spatial sculptures. Her latest spatial installation 'Into the pleasure dome ' is now on show at Museum Villa Mondriaan.
Her works has been exhibited worldwide in places like Paris, New York, Miami,
Hong Kong, Berlin and Istanbul.
She consciously chooses precision and aesthetics. That's part of her story. She works from the conviction that the experience of beauty leads to concentrated attention and ultimately to a caring relationship with the world. So she uses her technical skills in such a way that there is an apparent perfection that pulls the viewer into her work. Once there she speaks and the content can be unraveled, in a world of intuitively chosen images and ideas that she composes entirely according to her own insight. She combines familiar and seemingly logical objects into a whole that at first seems familiar, but on closer inspection evokes wonder and even confusion. Whether she magnifies characters, exposing identities or visualises heritage.
Her works offers recognisability to the casual viewer, but only comes into its fully weight with the intense curiosity of a trained viewer who suspects and searches through the connections she has provided.
Her work is part of the collections of; Museum Arnhem, Museum Villa Mondriaan, Kunstcollectie Rijksoverheid Ministerie van Binnenlandse zaken, Dutch Embassy in Japan and the French state in addition to various private art collections.
