These works are part of the "Massive color into space" series. The works I made before this series were characterized by the calm use of color. But I thought what else could I add to a still life. Suddenly I thought what if I start using color, replace the moody background and background with bright colors. And so this series was born, I also tried to work with minimal shapes. As a result, the series sometimes looks a bit abstract. The inspiration for this series came from a space travel report I read by Wubbo Ockels. I was captivated by his space travel gaze, that he realized himself dangling in space how special the earth is in that seemingly infinite nothing.
The works Cloaca and Blue are part of the exhibition 'Oysters and Lemons' in the Muiderslot, which can be seen from 2 September to mid-November 2022.
